Dining at Zaifu Japanese Style!

11/11/2012

Yesterday I’m craving for Japanese foods so I decided to look for any restaurant near the area. I checked if there are any Japanese restaurants in Power Plant Mall and I found one! Zaifu, which is located at the G/F of the Power Plant Mall, Estrella St. cor Rockwell Drive, Poblacion Makati. They are open from Monday to Thursday 11:00AM-9:00PM Friday 11:00AM-10:00PM Saturday 10:00AM-10:00PM and Sunday 10:00AM-9:00PM. For any inquiries or reservations you can call them at +63(02)989-1331 or +63(02)898-1332.

Dining Experience

Since this is a Japanese restaurant I’m expecting that the ambiance would like something that I often see on movies, but the place is just like any other restaurant around the area. Most of the people who dine here are with their family or group of friends. When I arrived one of their service crew assisted me and takes me to one of their tables. They are polite and happy to assist you, the place is not that big as other restaurants but what I like is that their kitchen has a transparent glass so you can see how they prepare your food. I always checked restaurants if there kitchen is exposed to their customers, this gives me the confidence that my food is served properly.

For the appetizer I ordered California maki, so far their maki is the best I’ve ever tasted. The food presentation is just the same as those other maki from the other restaurants but the taste is very different. I can say that it has a distinct taste of the egg and mango, plus when you dip it in the cause with wasabi sauce it makes the perfect appetizer for me.

The main dish was Beef Yakiniku and Katsudon. Both are my favorites and there version of Yakiniku is a bit different from those I’ve tasted before. The yakiniku was served is a sizzling plate with veggies on the side. I also don’t know but the taste for me was a bit salty, but if you mixed it with the rice it will taste just normal. So I did not date myself to eat the yakiniku solely. The Katsudon, just like other dishes served from other restaurant has no big difference. But it taste great.

In conclusion, my Japanese food cravings were satisfied and the value for my money was all worth it. I just also notice that they don’t accept card payments, but I did not ask for this so maybe if you dine here you can inquire first about card payments. One more thing, sorry for the low resolution and blurs with the photos because I did bring my camera but the stupid thing is I forgot the memory card. Hehehe.
